I’m guessing the term “to sit for a movie.” That is, only for a film.

(from “baby” plus the agent form of “sit”) first appeared in 1937, and its short form “sitter” attested from 1943. The use of the word abbreviate “sit”, “baby-sit” recorded from 1800.
