My father passed away recently I am receiving his 410k funds, but my husband owes child support “big time”.?
He owes alot from previous relationships can the child support services take this check from me?

They will unless you write a detailed letter to the appropriate state agency describing your inheritance and the people owed back child support.

If you put it in any kind of account with your husbands name on it CPS will take it. That is called co-mingling funds. As long as you don’t to that CPS shouldn’t be able to touch it. If they should try you will have to show that the money is your inheritance. An inheritance is not community property…unless you co-mingle the funds.
