i am a resposible sixteen year old girl babysitting twelve year old twin girls. how much should i get paid?
the girls are my neighbors, and i have known the family for a while. i “babysit” from 9 am to 4:30 pm.
all day, we play board games, the wii, and go outside to play jump rope, chalk, and four square. we go to the neighborhood pool and swim. they also enjoy art, so we draw and paint etc. they basically can fix their own lunches, but i help a bit. i have them clean their rooms. i do some common chores like dusting, swiffering, and vacuuming and just straightening up. how much would you pay me? i really don’t think i should be paid much, however i am kinda giving up my whole day for them, then i have drivers training from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm right after. so yeah.

I think you should get paid at least $ 12 dollars an hour. Sure, its pricey, but you give up your whole day for these girls. And wow, you are amazing in so many ways, I would never be able to do that! I admire you!

In my opinion i don’t think you should be paid, i know you don’t want to hear that but that’s the truth, listen to your story reworded.
I go to my neighbors house a play with their twins, sometimes they straighten up the house and sometimes i help make lunch. Would you pay if you were those parents?
Here is what i do for FREE and don’t ask for pay (If i sound rude i really don’t mean to)
My mom works from 9 am to 9 pm, i am 15 years old and i have 5 13 month old brothers and sisters.
9-10- Breakfast- Usually eggs or pancakes, dishes after wards.
10-11- Play time, we go to the toy room and play with toys and our family, once again, clean up after wards.
11-12- Outside time, i take them outside and let them run their energy off befor nap time, they usually play on the swingset.
12-1- Lunch time, usually sandwhiches or grilled cheeses, clean up after wards
1-3- NAP TIME- While they nap i am doing yard work, mowing the grass, pulling weeds, cutting loose tree limbs.
3-5- Park, we walk to the park, while the quints play i sit and talk to my friends and sometimes study.
5-7- Play time, They go to their playroom and play and once again i clean up after them.
7-8- Dinner
8-around 8:45- Bath time
9 Bedtime for the quints and study/homework time for me.
I don’t want them to go to daycare and be raised there so i told my mom that i would watch them for free and plus she works her butt off just to pay our bills and for the quints needs, i get my money when i ask to go and do something and i get paid for my grades, it would be a waste of money to pay strangers to watch 5 kids when they have a 15 year old sister at home, i don’t mind it and it kinda pays off, so honestly i don’t think you should get paid at all, especially if your close with the family.

Personally i would never get a babysitter to watch a 12 year old, they SHOULD be responsible enough to stay home alone.

why do these kids need to be babysat at age 12?

Answer by Height question guru!
12 year old girls do not need babysitters.

10 an hour sounds about right 🙂

I agree, 12 is practically a teenager, why do they need babysitting? I’m 12, and in my neighborhood, I actually do the babysitting of 7 year olds and 5 year olds. I haven’t had a babysitter since I was 9 or 10.

The girls are capable of doing all the things you do themselves. I honestly don’t think they need to be babysat, or you shouldn’t be paid too much, just because they are old enough to do most things themselves.

I’d probably pay you 40-50 dollars a day.

probably $ 5/hr. Baby sitting jobs don’t usually pay much because it’s generally not hard work and is done by teenagers who are willing to work for less than adults. Your job is mainly playing with the kids which like I said is not much work. What else would you be doing with your day? Sitting around watching T.V.? Playing video games? Sounds like you’re doing most of what you would be doing anyway.
