Can a mother file for direct child support when the father is already paying indirect child support?
Originally in the custody papers, it said that the mother and the father should split the costs for the children evenly. Therefore, for the past 3 years, my husband and I have been paying for half of his two children’s tuition, uniforms, books, etc. On top of that, we pays for 100% of karate classes, 100% of cheerleading, 100% of basketball, and 100% of school registration fees, just to name a few. Recently, we found out that the children’s mother has not been paying any of her half of the mandatory expenses; her mother has… Her mother is very controlling and wants so bad to be the kids’ mother. She is mentally unstable and is in debt above her head. We have no idea how she is able to pay for everything. Well, the children’s mother is finally in agreement to find a way to get her mother out of the kids’ life but is afraid she will “cut her off” (the grandmother also supports the kids’ mother). So, she is wanting us to start paying her “child support.” If she took us to court for direct child support, how likely is it that we will have to pay HER money when he already pays indirectly?

Yes none of what you have mentioned except maybe the tuition would be considered as part of child support. Child support is to feed house and clothe the child, what he has been paying for is extras. If he has receipts for everything he has paid for it may help a bit,but if the mother has been receiving any state help he is going to owe the full support.
